Our newest childbirth class balances the comfort of staying safe with the needs for community and hands-on instruction. In-person classes will take place in a private outdoor backyard location in Ann Arbor on May 8th and 15th, with room to spread out for maximum comfort and safety. In addition, there will be a series of asynchronous learning opportunities in the form of custom instructional videos created by our instructors, for viewing at your leisure. Each registrant will also have a private one-on-one Zoom meeting with the instructors to develop their birth plan. There is also a planned gathering on June 26 to reconnect and review for those that haven’t yet given birth. Anyone that has given birth prior to the final meeting are welcomed to join us and share their birth story. We will cover the stages of labor, comfort measures, informed decision making, postpartum, up-to-date research, and more.
Blankets to sit on as well as a variety of seating options such a balls, pillows, and chairs, will all be provided by Cynthia and Toni. We will also provide some snacks and individual beverages, but we encourage you to bring your own bagged meal or snacks. Meetings will be held from 4pm-7pm on May 8, May 15, and June 26. We will be capping the class size at 7 registrants and their partners. If you have any questions at all about this class, please contact Cynthia@TreeTownDoulas.com or Toni@TreeTownDoulas.com.
